Bournside Kicks Off Charity of the Year Partnership with The 4Ed Foundation
We are proud to announce that The 4Ed Foundation (part of the Gloucester Rugby Charitable Foundation), the charity set up in honour of former Gloucester Rugby player Ed Slater, has been selected as Cheltenham Bournside School's Charity of the Year for 2025/26.
The 4Ed Foundation was founded in honour of former Gloucester Rugby player Ed Slater, who was diagnosed with MND in 2022. Since then, the charity has worked tirelessly to raise awareness, fund research, and support families affected by the disease.
The 4Ed Foundation will be Bournside's second Charity of the Year, following on from the success of last year's partnership with the Lions at Large campaign, where together, we raised more than £5,000 for The Big Space Cancer Appeal.
During assemblies in September, Mr Waters has challenged our students to come together as a whole school community to fundraise for The 4Ed Foundation. Throughout the school year we hope students will get involved and come up with a wide range of fundraising activities - from rugby-inspired sporting events, to poetry competitions, student concerts, and more.
Mr Waters said, “Bournside's school values align perfectly with the determination and resilience shown by those living with MND, along with their incredible families. Our students are already full of brilliant fundraising ideas, and we are delighted to get the whole school community behind The 4Ed Foundation to raise both awareness and vital funds. Good luck to everyone involved.”
