Bright futures and GCSE success at Bournside School

What a brilliant day we’ve had celebrating an outstanding set of GCSE results at Bournside!

We are so proud of every single achievement - from top grades to the incredible personal progress made by our students. This morning, 299 students collected their results across 39 subjects, cheered on by friends, family and our dedicated teaching staff. 

Congratulations to every single one of you. Your hard work, resilience and determination have truly paid off. We hope you feel proud of everything you’ve achieved. From the many top grades to the remarkable progress made, every success is worth celebrating.

Ani Dhanvi achieved a phenomenal nine grade 9s. Having joined Bournside in Year 10 after moving to the UK, she will now pursue Biology, Chemistry, Physics and English with the ambition of studying Medicine to become the first medic in her family.

The teachers at Bournside have been brilliant, and I’m really proud of what I’ve achieved.

Rose Bullingham is heading into Bournside Sixth Form to study Physics, Chemistry and Maths. She was especially delighted with her GCSE English result (7), where she achieved much higher than she expected. Rose hopes to pursue her passion for motorsport engineering through a degree apprenticeship.

I’m especially looking forward to continuing with physics. I've always loved motorsport. At first the driving, and now the engineering.

Henry Pope was thrilled with a 9 in History and an 8 in English. He’s returning to Sixth Form to study History, Maths and Physics, keeping his options open for the future. 

My exams have gone really well and I'm pleased with my results today. Bournside has been great. All my friends are here and the support has been brilliant.

Henry's mum praised the “incredible wrap-around support” through the exam period:

From a parent's perspective the teaching staff here really gone above and beyond, with extra sessions and care for the students. We couldn’t be more grateful.

Andreea Andreica celebrated with an incredible four grade 9s and four 8s and was thrilled her hard work resulted in a 9 for English. She plans to study Psychology, Criminology, Business and English Literature, plus an EPQ at Sixth Form, with the goal of becoming a forensic psychologist or criminal investigator:

I’m so happy with my results! I've loved my time at Bournside. The people here are so nice and the teachers are so supportive.

Isla Parkins achieved an incredible six grade 9s and two 8s. She plans to continue with Geography (her favourite subject), Chemistry and Biology, and possibly Criminology at Bournside Sixth Form, with an eye on possible careers in medicine or wildlife science.

I've really enjoyed Bournside. I have loved the support from the teachers and the facilities here. And of course my friends.

Jacob Bottcher achieved a great set of results, exceeding his expectations in Science, moving from a predicted 6/7 to an 8/8. He plans to continue at Bournside Sixth Form to study Physics, Business and DT.

The focused subject blocks and specialist teachers and extra support made a huge difference.

Zach Callaghan is heading to Cirencester College to pursue his creative passions, studying Photography, Digital Media and Graphic Communication.

I’ve always been creative, and I’m really excited about the next step.

Alexis Hoddinot was delighted with grade 8s in English and Religious Studies. She’ll return to Sixth Form to study RS, Criminology and Psychology, with the ambition of becoming a forensic psychologist.

I was hoping for 8s but I wasn't sure I'd get them! I'm very happy with my results!

 

Oswin Dundas secured an incredible 5 grade 9s in Science, History, Religious Studies and English, three 8s and one 7 and will be returning to Bournside Sixth Form to study Criminology, Religious Studies and Biology.

I'm really happy. My results are better than I thought! I'm pleased with my maths and music results, which are higher than I anticipated.

Rhys Haines celebrated five grade 9s, two 8s and two 6s, including his favourite subject, Geography.

I'm pleased to have secured a 9 in geography! Bournside is great. All the teachers are lovely, and I get to see my friends every day.

Rose Janta-Lipinski celebrated a grade 9 in Geography and strong results across the board. She hopes to study Fine Art, Biology and Geography, with her sights set on the University of Edinburgh and a future in landscape architecture.

I'm very happy! I'm pleased with my Geography result, I worked really hard to achieve a 9. Bournside is a really great school, I really like it here.
