You will develop and apply theory and practical skills though learning how to mix, master and produce your own music in Logic Pro, how to record live instruments and creatively using digital audio. You will also develop an understanding of studio roles. You do not need to be a performer to complete this course, but an enjoyment of music and creativity are a must.
Welcome to Bournside Sixth Form
It is a great pleasure to introduce our sixth form to you and to give a brief insight into the life and work of our students. Together with our Sixth Form team and Senior House Captains, I am proud to lead our sixth form community, and I am extremely proud of our students and the way they develop, both personally and academically, as we support and challenge them to grow and succeed during their time with us.
At Bournside, students are treated as young adults. Individuals are given greater responsibility for their learning, alongside a school structure where our dedicated team provides outstanding individualised support, guidance and stability.
We strive to provide an enjoyable, dynamic sixth form experience, to enable students to develop into wellrounded, responsible, upstanding members of society whilst studying in an ambitious, caring and vibrant community.
Our aim to is fully support you to reach your potential and future goals, through the development of key life skills, and the experience and knowledge gained through your chosen subjects and a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities.
You will be encouraged to take part in a diverse mix of enrichment opportunities encompassing, for example, Young Enterprise, Early Applicant Scheme, Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award, sports and community volunteering schemes. This year, we have launched our new super-curricular Aspire Pathways too, further enhancing your sixth form experience.
All of these opportunities are designed to broaden your experience and to prepare you for life beyond sixth form.
Ofsted confirmed that we are a happy and successful community and one where the academic and personal ability of every student is identified, nutured and developed. Students who are new to the school need not worry, as they will be fully supported to settle in and make progress quickly.
I very much look forward to welcoming you to Cheltenham Bournside Sixth Form. It is a fantastic place to learn.
